Born in Italy in 1922 and established as a Parisian fashion house in 1950, Pierre Cardin became one of the great innovators of 20th-century fashion, known for challenging conventional ideas of clothing through geometric forms, bold proportions, and futuristic materials. His fascination with the Space Age during the 1960s became a defining part of the house’s visual identity, bringing sculptural silhouettes, synthetic materials, and forward-looking design into his collections. 

Pierre Cardin eyewear was produced through Safilo from 1991, when the two companies established a long-standing licensing partnership for the design, manufacture, and distribution of the eyewear collections. The frames translated Cardin’s avant-garde fashion language into geometric shapes, futuristic details, and refined yet expressive proportions.
