Luigi Colani is said to have created over 4,000 designs in his lifetime. Cars, cameras, pianos, furniture; you name it. Each has specific characteristics that make it immediately identifiable as a Colani piece. In the 1980s Mr. Colani designed futuristic vehicles that were engineered to be fuel-efficient and better for the environment. Automakers considered them too far-out for mass production. A man ahead of his time.
